Genialism
A philosophy of
human possibility.
Genialism is a philosophical teaching developed by Mykola Latansky. It regards genius as an inherent human potential that can find expression through self-knowledge, responsible authorship and meaningful contribution.
In this account, genius concerns the way a person recognises possibilities, examines what matters, makes commitments and brings a direction into reality. Its expression can take many forms: science, art, education, enterprise, care or everyday life.

The teaching’s central practice is reflective attention to our own experience. Four dimensions contribute to this inquiry:
Intellectual
Examining our beliefs, assumptions, reasons and contradictions.
Emotional
Listening to what emotions reveal about our values, attachments and conflicts.
Intuitive
Attending to conscience, felt significance and the sense of a direction that may precede a clear explanation.
Bodily
Recognising embodied responses that draw our attention to something worth examining.
Inner experience calls for interpretation. Conviction remains open to questioning, dialogue, evidence and the consequences of action.
Original Human Agency
Participating in the formation of the purposes that guide us.
Original Human Agency concerns our substantive involvement in forming, examining, revising and enacting our purposes and reasons — while remaining answerable for the direction we adopt.
Authorship in the age of AI
AI can contribute to the framing of a problem, the generation of possibilities and the reasons behind a decision. Mykola’s inquiry asks where and how the person participates in that process.
He distinguishes between augmented agency, where assistance expands our capacities while sustaining our authorship, and derivative agency, where we increasingly follow purposes and evaluative frames we have not sufficiently examined.
His work considers human authorship as a relationship to purposes and actions. It develops a philosophical proposal about how human beings can continue to grow, judge and contribute in an AI-mediated world.
From reflection to contribution
A meaningful direction takes shape through learning, action, revision and relationships. The concern of Genialism extends from inner recognition to the consequences of what we bring into the shared world.
